Monday, April 20: Art for BARCC
12:30-1:30 p.m.
Join BARCC’s Walk Committee members for a fun and engaging hour of creativity and connection. Video chat with fellow Walkers while creating an inspiring sign for the day of the Walk. No fancy art supplies required, just some paper and whatever coloring materials you have on hand.
Tuesday, April 21: Survivor Speakers Bureau (SSB) Panel
12:30-1:30 p.m.
This panel discussion is an opportunity to learn about BARCC’s Survivor Speakers Bureau (SSB). You will see and hear from of our amazing speakers, Eve, Cory and Corinne, whose mission is to educate others about the realities of sexual violence and its lasting impacts. They will share their own experiences of sexual violence, talk about why they volunteer, and tell you about their first hand experiences of the Walk for Change.
Wednesday, April 22: BARCC Volunteer Panel
12:30-1:30 p.m.
Meet some of BARCC’s dedicated hotline, medical advocacy and community outreach volunteers and hear how they work to end sexual violence in the past and present. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the panel.
Thursday, April 23: Supporting Survivors during a Time of "Social" Distancing
12:30-1:30 p.m.
Many of us are struggling with feeling disconnected and out of control as the world responds to the global health crisis. And for survivors of sexual assault, harassment, and abuse, this can intensify the isolation and other feelings that they experience as a result of trauma. In this online session, you will hear about BARCC’s tried-and-true approach to supporting survivors, along with special considerations for the current moment.
Friday, April 24: BARCC Trivia Night
5:30-7:30 p.m.
TGIF! Join the BARCC community for a virtual trivia night, an awesome way to kickstart Walk weekend! The themes of our three rounds are “Current Events of the 2010s,” “Boston/BARCC History,” and “Pop Culture: Quarantine Edition.” This interactive activity is designed for individuals of all ages and varying trivia experience. You will be given all the resources you need to suceed, and have the chance to meet other BARCC supporters throughout the night! #PetsforBARCC encouraged to attend as virtual cheerleaders!
